In 2010 Taurus Bodies became part of the Cartwright Group. Taurus Bodies have been manufacturing Ambulances and carrying out ‘blue light’ conversions for over 40 years. The Cartwright Taurus Ambulance range of products includes modular front line, conversions, rapid response vehicles, control vehicles, special incident vehicles and mountain rescue vehicles.
In summary our wealth of manufacturing experience of over 50 years, coupled with our ability to manufacture our own body panels, fabrications, electrical installations, paint and final finish in house at our 38 acre production facility, means we can provide a cost effective solution for your exact requirements.
The design involved work on the aerodynamics on the exterior of the ambulance, to include aerodynamic light pods to the front and rear which replaced the traditional light bar on the roof. Cartwright has actually integrated the traditional blue light equipment into an aerodynamics package, with the resultant benefit of improved fuel economy and a reduction in the carbon footprint of the vehicles.
This design is a combination of form and function as Cartwright has examined the customers’ requirements and designed a solution which meets both the clinical and aesthetic needs while meeting the strict CEN 1789 European safety standard for the construction of ambulances.
