Motor racing prodigy Zak Fulk has a new sponsor this season. Cartwright Group is backing the aspiring schoolboy British racing driver in one of the most exciting and competitive saloon car programme of events in the UK.
The leading trailer and commercial vehicle body manufacturer has agreed to become the main sponsor of Zak’s Clio Cup Race car in the highly competitive Renault Clio Cup UK Championship which is watched by 350,000 racing enthusiasts over the course of the season with 40,000 spectators at each round.
The Guildford based 16-year-old racing driver, who is already making a name for himself in the touring car circuit, made his debut in 2009 where he began his career racing competitively in the Comer Cadet National and British Championships and has gone on to find great success at a number of his racing events where he has previously been competing at the highest level of karting for the past four years until his step up into full car racing.
Zak’s string of accolades on the track began in 2012 where he came a highly creditable 4th in the MSA Cadet British Championships and 6th in the Super One National Cadet Championship, clinching two convincing victories throughout the season.
2014 was yet another impressive season in which Zak moved up into the Junior Rotax Class where he handled the step up with ease, taking three podiums and 5th place in the overall final standings.
Zak moved up into car racing in 2016 and has since set his sights on success with his assault on the 18-round Renault Clio Cup Championship, racing at top motorsport circuits including Brands Hatch, Donnington Park, Snetterton, Oulton Park and Silverstone to name just some of the famous motorsport locations.
Regarded as the perfect stepping stone for young drivers on their journey to the BTCC, the Renault Clio Championship receives a mammoth amount of television coverage where 20.8 million television viewers watch 229 hours of live air time.
Cartwright’s distinctive Union Jack logo will be displayed across Zak’s Clio Cup race car with the trailer manufacture supporting Zak and his team throughout the 2017-18 season.
The Cartwright logo and colours will not only be displayed on his racing car, but his driver uniform and sign boards in his garage will also feature the trailer manufacturer’s brand. Corporate hospitality for Cartwright personnel and customers is also available at the programme of racing events throughout the season.
Mark Cartwright, Group Managing Director of the Cartwright Group commented: “We were delighted to be given the opportunity to support Zak’s motor racing ambitions. Cartwright Group prides itself on providing youth with the opportunity of excelling themselves, so given Zak’s ability and talent in the world of Motorsport we were delighted to provide him with the backing to do what he loves. We look forward to following Zak on his journey to build his name as a racing driver to watch in the future.”
