Coronavirus is an unprecedented situation and presents significant challenges to industry. I would like to take this opportunity to confirm the position of the group remains that we are fully committed to the safety and wellbeing of our employees and to supporting our customers.
We have implemented a number of changes to ensure that we are protecting the safety of our workforce and managing customer needs at this difficult time. One of these changes is to temporarily suspend certain areas of our manufacturing process at Altrincham and this will be reviewed on an ongoing basis in line with government guidelines.
Cartwright Rental branches continue to remain open to support critical sector services. Businesses transporting, or supporting the transport of essential goods, medicines and supplies will still be given access to trailers for hire from all of our branches.
Our rental branches are operating with additional precautions in place. Drivers are asked to remain in their cabs and await instructions, they will not be asked to sign any agreements or electronic devices so there will be no physical or close quarters contact with our staff. Drivers will still be allowed full access to the site facilities; we just ask for their patience so we can ensure a safe system is followed.
Cartwright Fleet Services are still working on a 24-hour shift pattern with a full complement of employees both office based and home based to ensure that all assets under their management are maintained as scheduled, are legally compliant and kept fully operational with 24-hour breakdown support.
We have established a crisis team that meets regularly to evaluate our response to this pandemic. We are closely monitoring updates from the World Health Organisation (WHO), Public Health England, the NHS and the Government regarding COVID-19. We will continue to seek guidance from these agencies, public health officials and government agencies on an ongoing basis, and take actions based on best available information.
We are encouraging home-working wherever possible and ensuring that roles that still require a presence on site are limited to an absolute minimum, ensuring that all social-distancing measures are adhered to.
In these times of uncertainty, we will remain focused on supporting our customers by doing everything we can to keep operating safely and ensuring our operations are properly supported.
